Minutes from Farragut Band Boosters March
8, 2010, meeting.
The meeting was called to order by Tina Budge. Fifteen members and Mr. Rogers
were present.
The February 8 minutes were accepted.
The Riversweet fruit rebate check for $268.15 was received. Stan Crawford
reported that more money has been turned in than what was sold. The final
totals will be reconciled.
To date less money has been earned for working UT basketball games than
expected. So far $500 has been received by the Boosters, but $1,200 plus profit
was expected for the 12 games. Workers will be sent to the Lady Vols home
tournament games.
Members working on improving communication channels reported that Larry Danner
was contacted about the Boosters presenting to Farragut Middle School Eighth
Grade Band members. However, Mr. Danner stated that this year’s parent meeting
for the Washington, DC, trip has already been held. Mr. Rogers indicated that
he and FHS band members have given presentations to the Eighth Grade Band
members and an information packet was sent home to their parents. He said that
78 of the FMS students are zoned for FHS. Kathy Sullivan is compiling students’
contact information. Mr. Rogers says that FHS band members are organizing a Big
Brother/Big Sister support network for rising freshmen.
Tina Budge presented openings for officers and committee chairs. Needed are a
corresponding secretary, an operations treasurer, an accounts payable treasurer,
a publicity chair, and a concessions volunteer coordinator. Caren Hughes agreed
to serve as concessions volunteer coordinator.
Pictures from the Ole Miss CBDNA/NBA Conference trip are posted on SmugMug and
may be accessed via the FHS Band Boosters website. Mr. Rogers complimented the
Symphonic Band members on excellent performances at Ooltewah High School and Ole
Miss. Mr. Rogers also commended the FHS Winter Guard and Winter Drumline for
their fine performances. They will conclude their seasons on March 27 at the
Carolina Indoor Performance Association finals at Western Carolina University.
