Minutes from the Farragut Band Boosters Meetings
President Jim Johnson opened the February meeting.
Meeting Minutes: Dinah Bates motioned to approve the meeting minutes, and Don Peek seconded. The November 2004 meeting minutes were accepted.
A/P Treasurer’s Report: Jim Johnson introduced Bob Browning as the Boosters’ new Accounts Payable Treasurer. A report was not available for this meeting.
A/R Treasurer’s Report: Lynda Johnson said that she will be sending out “DUE” notices to students who did not meet their fruit sales quota.
OLD BUSINESS:
Nominating Committee: Dinah Bates handed out announcements for “FHS Boosters Nominating Committee Get-Together.” The meeting will be Sunday, February 13 from 2:00 to 4:00pm at 439 Sweetgum Drive (Sedgefield Subdivision). Jim Johnson added that three vacant Executive Board positions for 2005-2006 school year are Vice-President, Recording Secretary and Corresponding Secretary. Also needed is a volunteer to be a committee chair for band camp.
Westminster Competition Video: The Westminster band competition has not been received yet.
Newsletter: The newsletter will be out in the next week or so.
Concert Band Camp: Jim Johnson thanked Maryann Reinert for getting 60 pizzas for students’ lunches at concert band camp.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Patron Fund: Lanny Bates said that the patron fund has received $1,700.
Fruit Sale: Jim Johnson said that total profit from the Fruit Fund-Raiser was $39,442.23 (includes sale of pallets). $17,113.69 goes to the Boosters’ account with the balance going to Operations.
NEW BUSINESS:
March 15th Dinner and Concert: A dinner and concert will be March 15. Famous Dave’s will cater it, and the menu includes beef brisket, "Wilbur Beans," coleslaw, bread pudding and drinks. Dinner will start at 5:30, and the concert will start at 7:30. Look for more details in the newsletter, on the website and in email announcements.
Band Banquet: The band banquet will be at Rothchild’s on May 12. It is for all students and families. All students will receive a door prize at the banquet. Committee Chairperson Kathy Newman needs donations and any other help for this big event. If you have ideas or can help, please email her at newman800@yahoo.com.
Senior Gifts: Mr. Rogers will have the cost of senior gift plaques investigated for the next meeting.
Anchor jewelry: Anchor jewelry was on display in the band room for tonight’s meeting.
Chaperones: Janice Moore needs parent chaperones for upcoming band trips.
Director’s Remarks: Mr. Rogers plans to submit a band audition tape for a Chicago music conference in December.
Winter Guard won first place in their division at a recent competition.
