Minutes from the Farragut Band Boosters Meetings
President Jim Johnson opened the March meeting at 7:04PM.
Meeting Minutes: Maria Gomez motioned to approve the meeting minutes, and Norma Cooper seconded. The February 2005 meeting minutes were accepted.
A/P Treasurer’s Report: New Accounts Payable Treasurer Bob Browning was not in attendance, and a report was not available for this meeting. Jim Johnson said that he would try to attach a treasurer’s report later.
Nominating Committee: Dinah Bates announced that some positions have been filled for next year’s band boosters; however, there are some Executive Board and Committee Chairperson openings still open.
Band Banquet: Committee Chairperson Kathy Newman said that the band banquet is confirmed with Rothchild’s on May 12. Ms. Newman said she is looking for suggestions on a theme for the event. Plans include the “Parent Band,” a yearly favorite. The band banquet is for the whole family and not just for the students. Kathy Newman needs donations and any other help for the banquet. Email her at newman800@yahoo.com.
March 15th Dinner and Concert Update: Jim Johnson said that the boosters are waiting for additional ticket orders for the March 15 pre-concert dinner. Due to a low amount of orders, he will make a decision by Friday.
Committee Chairmanship Turnover Information: Jim Johnson asked that committee chairpersons write or update instructions, guidelines and any other information to help the new person taking over the job next year.
Uniforms: Committee Chairperson Marie Johnson announced that only about four more students need fitting for uniforms. If a band student is not in Symphonic Band, he/she needs to return his/her BLUE (“North”) uniform jacket immediately. She is still collecting “Marching only” students’ uniforms. Ms. Johnson also encouraged us to dry-clean uniforms at Concord Cleaners because they donate $2.00 per uniform to the FHS Band.
Chaperones: Jim Johnson announced, on behalf of Head Chaperone Janice Moore, that “Concert only” students must turn in their permission slips.
